Ben & Gemma- Wedding, Pennyhill Park Hotel
The Thamesmen were a fantastic addition to our wedding day. They learned a song which kicked in half way through our first dance and resulted in all our guests joining us on the dance floor. It set a fantastic tone for the evening and we have received so much positive feedback about the band. Thanks for a great evening.
Jenny Manville- Private Party, The Haslemere Hall, Haslemere
5/5. They were four very charming and personable young men, who we had some dealings with before the event, in terms of set up and tech stuff. On the day they arrived and quietly set up, with no demands and were very grateful to us for all the support they needed. They played really well and everyone on the night had a great time! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They were a pleasure to have at what was a very special evening for us, celebrating the Haslemere Thespians 80th year.
Daniel & Jenna- Wedding, Kingston Country Courtyard (Dorset)
The Thamesmen absolutely smashed it and read the crowd perfectly. The afternoon "acoustic" set was classy and great drinks accompaniment, while the two evening sets were amazing fun. The chaps were chilled out but professional. So many people commented on how good they were and the dance floor was full from start to finish.
Tim Wedding- Castle House, Orford
5/5 - We cannot recommend the Thamesmen more highly, we have had non-stop compliments and praise about them ever since they played our wedding, and they gave us an incredible night of dance-floor packed entertainment. The band members were all really good guys, efficient, reliable and accommodating, and made our first dance a very special one. We couldn't have asked for better, every song got the crowd going and the singing and playing was top notch!

FAQs

What is a cover band?

A cover band is a music group that plays well-known songs originally recorded by other artists. Unlike original bands, which create and perform their own music, a cover band focuses on playing well-known music from different genres and eras. The goal of a cover band is to entertain the audience and let them enjoy well-known music by accurately playing these songs and sometimes also enhancing them with their own interpretations.

Cover bands can be hired for various types of events, including parties, festivals, corporate functions, weddings and other special occasions.

What songs do live bands play at weddings?

The bands have a repertoire of songs from which they play. They are often open to suggestions and request numbers. It is a good idea to indicate this well in advance of booking. On the evening itself, requested songs can be detrimental to the construction of the set and therefore the enjoyment of the guests. If a requested song is not in the repertoire, several bands are willing to rehearse 1 or 2 songs.

How long does a live band play?

A standard performance consists of 3 sets of 45 minutes. This is spread over a period of 3 – 3.5 hours. Shorter performances are also possible. The maximum playing time of most live bands is 4 sets of 40 minutes. This can be spread over a period of 4 to 5 hours.

How long does a live band play?

A standard performance consists of 2 or 3 sets of 45 minutes. This is spread over a period of 3 – 3.5 hours. Shorter performances are also possible. The maximum playing time of most live bands is 4 sets of 40 minutes. This can be spread over a period of 4 to 5 hours.

How long does it take to build the cover band?

The formation of bands takes approximately 45 minutes for 3 to 4 piece bands. For larger bands this takes 1 to 1.5 hours. We always adjust the amount of equipment to the group size. If the group is very large (more than 175 people), the setup time will also be longer.

What is the process of a booking?

Our job is to completely unburden you so that you end up having a successful party. This is how you achieve a successful party:

  1. Look at our website and choose the entertainment you like. Difficult to choose? Contact our team and we will help you find the right option
  2. You will receive a proposal, does it not quite fit your needs then let us know and we will try to adjust to suit. You can indicate that you wish to book and we arrange the contracts to be signed by the artist or direct management and yourself.
  3. We will make an agreement and invoice. Payment Terms are 50% of the Artists Fees plus Booking Fees to confirm the act. The balance will be required 30 days before the event date. If your event is 30 days or less from the booking time then the full amount will be expected.
  4. Artwork or any online promotions cannot be actioned until the deposit is paid in full.
  5. All Artwork and Publications must be proofread prior to release.
  6. We ensure all the entertainment is booked correctly and we organise the whole process until the event date.
  7. We're all set. We are going to make it a successful occasion!
How is the technology arranged?

Each artist has a technical rider that is shared in advance to ensure requirements can be met. This states exactly what the famous artist needs to perform. Most acts bring their own other than those in our Famous Section.

Is the artist available?

It is important to carefully check whether the well-known artist is available on the indicated date. We will check the availability for you and will send you a proposal based on this. If we indicate that the artist is available, the option will also be fixed. Otherwise it will be clearly indicated.

What is a rider?

A rider is a document in which the wishes and requirements of an artist are recorded. Well-known artists in particular often have a number of wishes, such as their own dressing room, a certain number of bottles of drinks, a meal and so on. In addition to this 'hospitality rider', artists often also have a 'technical rider'. This rider states, for example, which speakers, inputs and monitors are desired. In many cases, the artist's sound engineer takes this himself. He can also plug into your available sound set. On the technical rider you can see whether your Production Kit & Audio meets the artist's requirements. If you don't understand this. No problem, we are happy to help you with this!

How is the price determined?

The desired duration of the performance
Travel time and travel costs
Any lighting and/or sound technology required
Any waiting and preparation time
The group size
Familiarity of the act
Booking Fees

Ultimately, every party is unique. Therefore, we are happy to discuss your requirements in advance and can make an appropriate tailor-made proposal.

How can I cancel?

Do you want to cancel unexpectedly? Please contact us, we will then try to resolve it as best we can for both you and the entertainment you have booked. In consultation, we usually come to the best solution.
This is our standard cancellation policy:
The deposit is payable upon issue of contract and non-returnable unless the Artist cancels the performance. The Promoter / Client agrees to pay 100% of the total fee agreed if the performance is cancelled within 120 days of signing the contract.

How does payment take place?

After signing the contract directly with the Artists or their Management, you will be sent an invoice with the payment details included payable by bank transfer to our UK partner Jealous Entertainment Ltd and / or directly from the Artist or direct Management.

What if last-minute it turns out the act cannot perform?

We always have a backup option available. If the entertainment you have booked is unable to perform due to force majeure, we will do everything we can to make it happen. Because we have such a large network, we always succeed.
